GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The configuration is specifically designed for diving, and is also very well suited for patrolling. It has a forward windscreen and helm console protected by a long, full width hardtop canopy that covers the side bench seats, which have cushions and gear storage underneath. Aft of the bench seats are racks for 8 scuba tanks, then clear space at the sides for diver entry and a removable dive ladder. Corner step / seats are fitted in the aft end of the cockpit, facilitating entry in and out of the boat from the dive ladder. Between these rear seats is a lift out section that creates a 4 person rear sofa. The rear swim platforms increase usable space for gear and crew retrieval and aid stern-to beach landings. The lockable forward cabin has two single bunks for the crew and can be used for gear and luggage storage. The dive ladder conveniently stows away on top of the canopy.

At the bow, a raised rail can be fitted for extra safety when anchoring, and to assist people boarding from the beach. There is a flush lid over the anchor locker which houses a storage tube that retains a folding anchor. Handrails above the forward windscreen and along the hardtop canopy are thoughtfully combined with wide teak cabin-side walkways to make movement to and from the foredeck both comfortable and safe. A windscreen wiper is fitted for increased visibility in bad weather. Roll-down clear screens along the sides can also be fitted to increase protection from the elements. . The captains seat folds down to allow for seated or standing steering, and is positioned to give a clear view of divers boarding from the side ladder.

The X2K Dive Boat is specially designed to fit in a standard 40 foot high-cube cargo container. Ensuring fast, easy, safe, cost efficient, global and domestic transportation. This also gives a distinct advantage for those wishing to trailer their boat.

CONSTRUCTION

Hand-laid composite GRP (fibreglass), with cored sandwich panels. The hull is made of multi-directional fibre glass layers, with additional strengthened stringers. The balsa and closed-cell high density foam cores increase panel stiffness and reduce the weight usually associated with solid GRP boats. This offers great strength and robustness and maximises hull integrity in the event of a collision. All exterior decks and the gun-well are self-draining.

ENGINES AND PROPULSION

For simplicity of maintenance and operation the boat is powered by outboard motors, using two motors and counter-rotating propellers (other engine configurations are also available). Stainless steel propellers come as standard with the larger size Suzuki engines.

STEERING AND ENGINES CONTROLS

The steering system is hydraulically operated and the gear shift and throttle controls are genuine parts matching the brand of engine selected. All controls are clearly visible and accessible.
